2011 was an action packed year for the Backstage Bistro! Shortly after our Grand Opening in August, the Backstage Bistro played host to a number of large community events:

he Pleasure Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital hosted Laughing, Living, Giving at Shadowbox Live on October 5th, and the Backstage Bistro was the venue for the events cocktails and registration prior to the silent auction in the theater and special performance of Legacy. Attendees gathered to show their support and raise money for the Hospice and Palliative Care Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

On Wednesday, October 19th, Planned Parenthood used the Backstage Bistro to welcome its supporters to the 2011 Columbus Condom Couture Fashion Show and as the stage for the post-fashion show party (where supporters could mingle with models and CCAD designers.) All proceeds from this event were to benefit Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio and vital health care, education and advocacy programs in our community. Though this event was met with some controversy, the evening was filled with fun, fashion, and good health—and the Backstage Bistro looked almost as good as the models!

n Wednesday, December 14th, Shadowbox Live and the Backstage Bistro welcomed the guests of the book launching party for the inaugural Who’s Who in GLBT Columbus. Guests mingled, wined, and dined before entering the theater for the official book launching and special performance of Holiday Hoopla XX.

2012 is sure to be an exciting year for the Backstage Bistro
